Taking it to the Streets

I'd like to start with a little celebration. Not that it's a huge thing to anyone but me, but when I went onto the website of one of our local conservative talk radio stations, WHK, which is, actually part of the Townhall site, and it turns out that this blog is listed as #3 in the State of Ohio.  Whether this indicates the high quality of my work, or the paucity of quality in blogging in the rest of Ohio, I don't know.  So, I'm just going to give myself a big "Woohoo!" and get on with it.

Anyone who has been paying any sort of attention has probably noticed that Congress failed to meet the deadline, set by themselves, for inflicted socialized healthcare on us. Of course, the fact that the people of the nation seem to be overwhelmingly (and then some) against the destruction of the modern medicine had nothing to do with it. No, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said, not allowing details such as truth and facts get in his way, there was really no deadline set by anyone, certainly not by Obama, who, obviously never said he wanted a bill to sign before the August recess. Is it just me, or is Reid the kind of guy you would feel really uncomfortable leaving alone in a room with your children?

Then, we have Demon of the House Nancy Piglousy telling us that it's the eeeeevil insurance companiesholding things up, and various other members of the so-called "People's House" telling us that the people really want crappy healthcare, that it's just a bunch of paid rabblerousers making a fuss.  Obviously they have us all confused with democRats, for whom bussing in paid professionals for protests and demonstrations is the modus operandi.

I am certainly not now, nor have I ever been, for what I am doing here. Though donations will be accepted. I'm also pretty sure that most of us here are doing this on our own time, and of our own free will, not influenced by anything other than our desire to make our country better, and avoid the destruction caused by liberal policies. Of course I could be wrong, and if I am, I am willing to cut a good deal.

Anyway, the point I am trying to make here is that, regardless of the "Servant of the People" fantasies the statists in Congress may have about themselves, it's quite clear that there is little to no respect for the actual people in their attitudes.  And they are starting to see the results of that lack of respect.

Senators and Representatives have been cancelling so-called town hall meetings, where they were going to try to sell Obamacare, due to "scheduling conflicts," which is democRat code for not wanting to be laughed off the stage, booed out of the building, and chased out of town. All of this has already happened, and the recessis only four days old.  In fact, the anger seems to be building with the recess, rather than abating, and it's going to be rough sailing for the statists, both throughout the month, and when they get back to Washington.

Toward that end, I have found a new website, aimed at organizing rallies for the benefit of our elected officials, to let them know we are not in favor of Nationalized Healthcare. They are calling these things "Recess Rallies," and the website is, appropriately enough,  recessrally.com.  Apparently, gatherings at the offices of our various elected officials will occur on Saturday, August 22, 2009, at noon.  I intend to be at one, and so does my wife.

And let me make this perfectly clear to all the libidiots out there who will say that this is just "astroturfing," and that these gatherings are organized by the Republicans, or various special interest groups: I DONT' CARE!!!  For this issue, at least, our views are the same, and my voice WILL be heard on that day. And just for the record, Republican offices as well as democRat are targeted for gatherings on that day. We want those who stand against this Obamination to know we support them, and those who stand for it to know we stand in opposition.

I'll be there. The real question is: Will my Representative be man enough to show up?
