An Act of Domestic Terrorism

I don't know how many of you know about the crisis in the Central Valley of California.  Having lived there for several years, I can tell you that it means disaster not only to California, but to the rest of the nation as well.

The Federal Government, in order to protect a two-inch fish known as the Delta Smelt (which lives, appropriately enough, in the delta of the Sacramento River, in the Bay Area), has shut down the water pumps that supply water to the farms and communities in the Central Valley.  Actor and former mayor of Fresno, Alan Autry, has called this an "Act of Domestic Terrorism," which of course gets the left's noses all out of joint.  He goes on to clarify and illuminate what he means, how he means it, and why he stands my his statement.

As mayor of Fresno after 9/11, he participated with the Department of Homeland Security to find ways to ensure that the water supply to the Central Valley would be maintained, both for the people that live there, and to provide for the farms that take up the bulk of the land area.  The Bush Administration understood how vital this region is, not only to California, but to the nation as a whole.  This is the region from which a great percentage of our produce comes from.  If you look at the crates your fruits and vegetables are packed in at the grocery store, you are likely to find towns like Hanford and Visalia listed on the side. These communities are in the heart of the Central Valley.

The Obama Administration, through its radical stooges in the Environmental Protection Agency are using the Endangered Species Act to attack and destroy the food production of the nation.  I certainly think Autry does not understate the case. If anything, he understates it. This is not an act of domestic terrorism. This is an ACT OF WAR against the American People.  While the Messiah sends his wife out, via limousine,  to the farmer's market for "Certified Organic Tuscan Kale," in the Central Valley, the farmers are forced to make use of the food bank.

The already cash-strapped State of California is, according to Fox News, expected to lose $900,000,000 in income due to Obama's War on America.  This greatly reduces the amount of tax revenues flowing into state and federal coffers, not to mention the amount that must now go out in unemployment and welfare checks. Have you noticed, as well, that the cost of produce, which normally drops considerably during harvest season, has remained much higher than it was last year? I have.

How are we going to make up for this shortfall? Simple: Obama wants to redistribute the "wealth" of the farmers of California to the third world, from which we will have to start importing food.  The liberals won't let us drill for oil, yet want to become "energy independent." Now, they won't let us grow food, so we will no longer be "food independent." How much of our economy, how many jobs, how much of our FREEDOM, are the liberals going to ship off the somewhere else, never to be seen by us again?

This Admiinistration, and this President do not SERVE the American People. This Administration and this President are AT WAR with the American People. He opposes everything this nation stands for. He is not for freedom or prosperity; He is for dependence and poverty, except, of course, for those few elite that will have to lead, which, of course, would include his family. He is an elitist and a bigot.

I leave you with one last thought: If they can shut down the Central Valley farms for a two-inch fish, what's to stop them from shutting down the Midwestern farms for a field mouse? Or New England fisherman for a jellyfish? Or the U.S. Auto industry just because they feel like it? Oops, guess they're already working on that one...

Am I Racist?

Yes, I am, apparently. If by "racist" you mean white and conservative in Obamerica, then I guess the definition fits.

We have all, by this point, seen or heard the totally honest outburst by Congressman Joe Wilson (D-SC), who did what we all wished we had an opportunity to do, tell Obama to his face exactly what we think of pretty much everything he says. (Ironically, earlier this week, Obama said something I wholeheartedly agree with, and have thought for years, mainly that Kanye West is a jackarse.)

Well, in response to the outburst , in which Wilson called Obama a liar for claiming that His healthcare "plan" wouldn't cover illegals (which, by the way, it would, proving that, unlike most democRats, Wilson has actually read the bill), we have had a rousing debate. Not  on the merits of the healthcare "plan," but on whether or not, to paraphrase the aforementioned Mr. West, Joe Wilson does or doesn't care about black people.

Yes, folks, the glorious day the democRats have prayed for is here: They have a black man in the White House, so now they can claim any opposition to anything and everything he says or does is "racist." I actually like this plan, due mainly to the "Law of Liberal Unintended Consequences."  Any plan that liberals put into place is doomed to failure because their utopian mindset makes them completely incapable of foreseeing a downside to that plan. After all, they are, according to themselves, the "Best and Brightest" among us. Surely they know what they're doing, right?

Of course, as we have seen, if the best laid pans of mice and men go astray, the plans of liberals typically end in disaster.  I suspect that all the shrill race-baiting the left is doing is going to have the opposite effect they are hoping for. We all know they are trying to discredit the conservative movement and draw attention away from their awful healthcare reform "plan." What I think is going to happen is: People will hear all the howling the left is doing, then see their neighbors, who oppose the plan, and who might possibly have marched or protested at one of the tea parties, and realize that all the noise is just a distraction so no one will notice the impending doom that liberals are about to force on us.

Just look at how hard they are trying to defame Congressman Wilson. We have Hank Johnson, the replacement for Whackjob Cynthia Mckinney, from Georgia, saying that if Joe Wilson isn't discredited and censured, the New KKK will ride roughshod over the countryside, spreading fear and loathing amongst men. I'm sure Senator Robert Byrd (DEMOCRAT - WV) is excited for an opportunity to put that white sheet on again and participate in a few hate crimes. What is it with these members of the Congressional BLACK Caucus who believe that the color of a person's skin is irrelevant, and apparently don't understand irony?

Then we have Maureen Dowd, who might want to up her Haldol dosage. Seriously, Dowd is kind of a Forrest Gump type for the bitter, lonely, misanthropic, closet lesbian crowd (Seriously, did you read her sapphic odes to Shrillary during the domocRat primaries? Frightening.).  She obviously didn't get her job based on the quality of her work, and I am kindly assuming that she has remained in the "Upright and Locked Position," though perhaps I'm being TOO kind.  Not that she was a great writer before, but more recent columns indicate a serious lack of grasp on reality, and are almost unreadable, especially as non-fiction.

Finally, we get to the heart of the lineup - Jimmy Carter. Not content to settle quietly into second place on the list of "All-Time Incompetent Idiots Who Managed to Get Elected President," here comes good old Jimmy, telling us that we are all racists. I MIGHT feel a little guilty at being called a racist by a former President, but when that President also happens to be a huge Anti-Semite, I maybe don't feel as bad as I should. Jimmy has the blood of many Jews, and frankly, many Palestinians on his hands, due mainly to his utterly idiotic attempts to bring "Peace" to the Middle East. The man is such a foreign policy Moron that even the Nobel Committee recognized him, much as they did High Cleric of Global Warming, er, Climate Change, Al Gore.

So, as, apparently, a Racist in good standing, I would like to make a suggestion to the democRats: The "racism" thing is getting a bit stale. Why not try to liven the debate up, not by actually DISCUSSING the issues, because if you had enough brains to understand the issues, you would be on our side, but rather by using more and more insulting names, really vile stuff. Try these: Pedophile, Pig F#$ker, Baby Raper, Barney Frank. You know, just to show the rest of the country what idiots, fools, and just plain jerks you really are.

Anti-Obama Indoctrination Letter

As my daughter has started kindergarten this year, it was with great disgust that I learned of Maobama's Orwellian plan to broadcast directly into our childrens' classrooms with his propaganda.  Looks like the Führer trying to recruit his Obama Youth Corps, as predicted.

This is the letter I wrote to my daughter's teacher. I will let you know what kind of response I receive.

Mrs. [Teacher],

On the radio today, I heard that there is a planned "speech" by the President to be broadcast to all school students in the nation on Tuesday, September 8.  Kathy and I were wondering if the Kindergarten students were going to be required to view this.

We are not what you would call big supporters of the President's policies, and feel the idea of him going directly to our children with his agenda is more than vaguely Orwellian, and smacks more of something more likely done in a third world dictatorship than in the United States of America.

Please let us know what the plans are for that day, as we do not feel comfortable exposing Brenna to this unprecedented and presumptuous act of arrogance, and would prefer to keep her home that day, if necessary.

Thank you,

Arik and Kathy Iczkowski

Update: This is the response I recieved from the teacher:

No, we will not be watching it.

I appreciate your concern,

[signed]

Quick reply and to the point. I appreciate that as much as the actual answer.

Health Care House Bill Analysis: Part One of Maybe Several

In order to better serve you, I have taken the bold step of attempting to slog through the House Version of the ObamaCare Bill currently online at the House.gov website. Though I am about 1/15  of the way through the bill, it is quite a boring read, and frankly, I've probably read about 1/15 more of the bill than any of your elected representatives.

My opinion so far? A bad idea poorly executed. You may have read an email making the rounds supposedly by a doctor to Senator Evan Bayh (d-IN), and most of what he says is correct, to a point, at least as far as I've read so far. I have only found one outright misstatement, and, in all honesty, the language in that section of the bill is so poorly conceived that I could almost see how he came to his conclusion. Not that the rest of it is any better, but, then, what do you expect from a bunch of lawyers, Shakespeare?

I must warn you, I'm not a lawyer. However, I think this lends an authority to my opinion that it would otherwise lack. After all, if I can interpret the law in the way I do, then you can bet there will be an outhouse of lawyers that would interpret it the same way, and an outhouse that would argue for the exact opposite. (Is that the proper term for a group of lawyers? You know, flock of geese, school of fish, outhouse of lawyers?)

So, without further ado, here is my interpretation so far. I will reference the email when applicable, and give my own interpretations of things with the page numbers on the bill.

On page 16, Sec 102(a)(1), The grandfather clause appears to allow no new private policies on current plans to be written after the first effective day of the bill. Essentially, this means that if your employer has a healthcare package, no matter what it is, no new employees will be able to get onto it after the first day of the implementation.  Any employees after that date will have to be given the new and improved, government approved healthcare package.  In sec 102(a)(2), the bill tries to force your employer to scrap their old plan by allowing neither changes in coverage, nor changes in copay.  This is not the "End of Private Insurance" that was trumpeted on the talk shows, just the end of any semblance of free market in what Private Insurance will cover.

Page 19, lines 1-6, is where the government tells your insurer that they (the government) knows what is best for you, and they will have to approve any new policies after the effective date.

The first page mentioned in the email is page 22, where the doctor says "Mandates that the Govt will audit books of all employers that self insure!!"  This appears to be true, from my interpretation.

Page 24 sec. 115 has the whim of the Federal Government determining what is and isn't acceptable in terms of a provider network. More in a moment on what constitutes government whim.

On the same page, sec. 116, profits are capped by requiring insurers to pay a minimum percentage pf premiums back out in claims.

The email next references page 29, lines 4-16, where it claims that Healthcare is rationed. This is the one instance that I find the doctor off base, at least as far as I've read.  It appears to me that this section is attempting to cap copays at a certain level. I think it says that, once you pay out a certain amount in copays and related costs, you don't have to pay any more out of pocket. Again, I'm not a lawyer, but this is what it appears to say to me.

Another reference in the e-mail is to page 30, where section 123 creates a government committee staffed solely by political appointees to determine what is and is not appropriate for your healthcare plan.  Most of these committee members are appointed by the President, with just a few requiring any confirmation from Congress.  This is where things can change from one administration to the next, or even day by day, depending on how the polls look at any given time.  This committee is the first of the REALLY bad ideas in the bill, as opposed to the just plain pretty bad ideas and kind of bad ideas. Giving the government control of such a basic right as what healthcare you can seek, at the whim of a bunch of bureaucrats seems to me to be not such a good idea.

Page 39 is the laugh of the day: The bill attempts to define "Plain Language," and I'll be damned if, after reading as much as I have, I've been able to find any in this bill.

Page 41, Subtitle E, creates an entire new government bureaucracy, the "Health Choices Administration."  Oh boy.

On page 42, the email says that "The Health Choices Commissioner will choose your HC benefits for you. You have no choice!" I didn't interpret it quite this way, but I see that it definitely could be read that way. The language here was so "un-plain" that it was a little hard to decipher.

On page 43, lines 19-24, we discover that, under this bill, our medical records become property of the federal government. And what could possibly go wrong with that?

Pages 44-45 give the Comissioner of the HCA, through the use of capricious regulation and enforcement, the power to destroy private insurers. "What!" you cry, "surely the government wouldn't be so injudicious as to destroy insurers just to accrue more power to themselves!"  Why don't we ask our CIA agents what the Obama Administration is willing to do to make themselves more powerful, and insulate themselves from any possibility of outside oversight.

Page 50 section 152 is one of the more controversial ones, claiming that things not relevant to treatment will not be used to determine access to treatment. The doctor reads this to mean that healthcare will be provided to illegal aliens, and, though it is not explicitly stated as such, I agree. Any two-bit lawyer for an illegal immigrant would look at it and say the same thing. That the democRats say that it says no such thing simply shows that they are lawyers not worth two-bits.

Pages 58 and 59 set up government access to individual finances and accounts, though it's not clear whether it means doctors' accounts or patients', which, in government probably means both.  These pages also set up a national healthcare database, as well as a national healthcare ID, which could be linked to deny services. Interesting that the democRats throw a fit when you suggest showing an ID to vote, but want to require it to see your doctor.  Of course, showing an ID to vote would deny the voting rights of core democRat constituents: Illegal aliens, convicted felons, cartoon characters and repeat customers.

As far as I've gotten is page 62, lines8-11.  This has another good laugh, but it's more a sinister mwa-ha-haaaa than an amusied chuckle. It says, and I quote, "Limitations on use of data - Nothing in this section shall be construed to permit the use of information collected under this section in a manner that would adversely affect any individual." Yeah, right. Pretty much the entire bill to this point talks about how to adversely affect individuals. Yet they expect us to believe they'll stop when it comes to respecting our right to privacy? Please. It's hard to believe these are the same people who pitched such a fit over the PATRIOT Act.  Of course, that was the reviled George W. Bush in charge. Now we have Saint Barry to save us.

Barf.

Anyway, I'll get back with more later, and maybe throw in some more goodies in between. Keep fighting the good fight!

Bon Voyage, Teddy K...(and Don't Come Back!)

It's been, what, about a week since old Teddy croaked, and I'm pretty sick of hearing what a great guy he was. The "Liberal Lion of the Senate" they call him.  Let's remember that in the wild, the male lion let's everyone else do all the work, and takes the pick of the spoils for themselves.  They're not good for much other than reproducing, which, if you add alcohol, pretty much sums up old Teddy's legacy.

Here's an oldie but goodie: What's Teddy's favorite drink? A Chappaquiddick, made with scotch and murky water.

Bad taste? Maybe, but so, frankly was the bulk of his career.

Lest we forget, good ol' Teddy was on the wrong side of pretty much every issue that came up: Teddy Kennedy: Effing Up America Since 1962. And that holds true right up to the end of his life: Health Care Reform.

Now, anyone with two brain cells to rub together would have seen what the result of his death would be on the health care debate: Lets win one for the old drunk!  If I have to hear "It was the cause of his life" one more damn time, I'm going to vomit. I, frankly, was convinced that the cause of his life was a torn rubber.  If he'd put half as much thought into his policies as he did into trying to shirk responsibility for things he did while he was smashed, he might have actually done something positive.

It was the cause of his life, so we HAVE to pass it. DONKEY CRAP! Just because he dedicated himself to it, doesn't mean it is worthwhile.  We've got jails full of people who dedicated themselves to unworthy causes. What if "The Cause of His Life" had been to nuke Chicago? While a case could certainly be made for it, I suspect that a lot of people would think it was probably not a good idea. But, now, since he's dead, we're supposed to nuke our economy and our childrens' futures just cause old Teddy would have wanted it that way? BULLSQUEEZE!

It was a bad idea when he was alive. It's a bad idea now that he's dead. Period.

I hope they bury him face down, so he can see where he's going, rather than where he's already been.

P.S. If they are going to pass the damn thing, they ought to call it "The Kopechne Memorial Healthcare Act."
